LUCKY RULE OF THREE
CHARACTERIZED Seoul 2013 was Cut&Paste's 3rd visit to beautiful Seoul and 3rd collaboration with Platoon Cultural Development at Platoon Kunsthalle. On Saturday, April 27th, CHARACTERIZED showcased Seoul's top character designers with its experimental team format. Congrats to the winners of the night, Team 1 - 1000day & 08AM!
TOURNAMENT ARTWORK // Theme : Student & Master
In this competition, the 3 teams of 2 designers were challenged to create a duo of characters based on the student and master relationship. The competition was made up of 3 onstage rounds, each intended to create a product to be used in the following round. In the first 10-minute onstage round, competitors prepared a black & white sketch of their student character and how they are learning their domain. In the second 10-minute round they prepared a second black & white sketch of the master character with the same constraints, yet here exhibiting the master of their domain. In the final 15-minute round, the teams added full detail in color, texture, and styled the student & master in one final scene composition.
